These are pretty much self explanatory. I have had this list for about 10 years. I know I’ve only completed 3 but to be honest I’ve not been trying very hard to complete it. I managed 2 of them by accident – Aurora Borealis and the ‘Rope Bridge’. The Northern Lights appeared one night when we were driving up to Berwick-Upon-Tweed (yes it would be nice to go and see them in Iceland but beggars can’t be choosers)! And the rope bridge was the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge in Ireland. Again there are more exotic places but it was a rope bridge and it was bloody high up! The Louvre was sort of planned. I was going to Paris with my friends and so the opportunity was there!
The Smithsonian Institute is the worlds largest museum and research complex, it’s in Washington D.C and it just looks awesome.
Machu Pichu (which I realise I have spelt wrong on my list) is basically a 15th Century Inca site in Peru. You can take a one, two, three, four or five day hike to the site. 🙂
Plaka is in Greece and is the village/town that is featured in the book The Island by Victoria Hislop (2006). I adore this book, it’s all about the Leper Colony that was established on Spinalonga from 1903 to 1957. I’d like to take a ‘The Island’ based trip to Plaka and visit all of the areas featured in the book.
Egypt is basically just go to Egypt! Pyramids and The Sphynx type things!
The Crossroads – This refers to a particular crossroads in America which are apparently the location where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil in exchange for being an awesome guitar player. And if you ever happen to listen to his exceptional music it does sound rather “demony”. Unfortunately the exact location is as elusive as the man himself!
Death Valley has the driest and lowest points in North America and it’s awesome!
I would love to visit a drive in movie theatre, unfortunately because I live in England, where it’s always cold and raining, it’s highly unlikely!
I must add that I have recently made an addition to my list, which for some reason I haven’t written down…but I must hike the PCT before I vacate this existence 🙂 with Nat 😉
Don’t ever let anyone make you think you’re not good enough,
follow your dreams right now! Don’t wait until tomorrow,
next week, next year. Stop planning, start doing 🙂
