His room is done!

We’re very slowly turning our house in to a home. When I say very slowly, I mean very slowly.

We started decorating the troglodytes bedroom months ago. To be honest I severely underestimated the amount of effort and time that was needed to do this. I had planned to do it in two days. It was more like a week and it drove me nuts.

Our entire house is covered in hideous lining paper that has been stuck down with glue of the Gods. Then it has been painted over with about 12 layers of ultra thick gloop. I’m guessing they didn’t want to re-plaster the walls.

Anyway. I’ve let it go and so should you.

We eventually stripped most of the paper off. I’m not going to lie, there may well still be some on there because if I had removed it I would have brought a wall down…

Christopher chose grey and green for his colour scheme, I was sceptical at first but it actually looks really good.

With the painting complete we just had those little finishing touches left.

These were;

Put new light shade up

New curtains (He still doesn’t have these)

Put posters up – buy frames

Install new coat hook

Put pictures up

These were all 5-10 minute jobs. Bearing in my mind that we finished the actual physical decorating of his room nearly six months ago (August/September 2016), it has taken me until this last Friday (March 2017) to do these finishing touches. (And I still haven’t bought him new curtains)

If you haven’t already noticed I’m not great at this whole Home Improvement malarkey. I like that we are putting our mark on our own home. There’s no rush though. When we first moved in I wanted to get everything done right away but I’m slightly more relaxed about it all now. The important thing is that Christopher loves his new bedroom and now that it’s done Chris and I can get on with the rest of the house…Ha!

Don’t ever let anyone make you think you’re not good enough.Β

Follow your dreams right now! Don’t wait until tomorrow,Β

next week, next year. Stop planning, start doing πŸ™‚

Be happy and keep smiling πŸ™‚
