The Lake of Fire series follows the story of a woman named Rose whose parents are killed in a car accident which she survived. This terrifying tale unfolds across three books, The Lake of Fire, Satan’s House and Limbo of the Infants. Each book is packed with the paranormal, the supernatural, satanic worship and a story-line that keeps you guessing. Prepare to be scared, if you love a good horror then these books are for you. The imagery that exudes from the writing is incredible and only adds to the terror.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to throw some questions in the direction of the author and because she’s so lovely she answered them for me 🙂
1. I love how each book is interconnected, did you have the entire series mapped out before you started?
I always had the first and second books mapped out, but the idea for the third book began to formulate towards the end of Satan’s House. I thought that it would be cool to go back to Filton House’s grisly roots, to really give the reader a thorough history of how the house became so demonic.
2. Do you believe in the supernatural and the concepts you have written about in the series?
I do believe in the supernatural. I love the paranormal; in particular, witchcraft and black magic.
3. Where does your inspiration come from?
Inspiration can come from anywhere! Anything from books, TV shows, life experiences, even TV advertisements. Sometimes I will see something completely unrelated and be like, ‘that would be a great idea for a story’!
4. Have you always wanted to be a writer?
When I was younger I used to write stories. I’ve always had a vivid imagination. Murder-mystery has always been a favourite of mine.
5.Who is your favourite author?
I’m really into James Patterson at the moment. I’ve just read ‘Cradle and All’ which is one of his earlier thrillers.
6. Are any of your characters based on real people?
All characters are a work of fiction.
7. How long did you spend on each book? Research and writing?
On average, I’d say that each book takes me at least a year to complete. That includes research, writing, editing, more editing! Formatting etc. It’s a long process.
8. How often do you write?
Whenever I can. Some weeks are more productive than others!
9. If you weren’t a writer what would you be doing instead?
Probably something to do with animals. I love all animals, especially dogs.
10. What are you working on at the moment?
I’m working on two new horror novels at the moment. One is based in the 1970’s and involves a haunted, abandoned theme park. The second one is set in the present day and focuses on a safe house located on a remote island.
11. Finally, if you could be any mythical creature, what would you be?
A mermaid would be pretty cool; I’d live in an underwater temple made of gold!
A.J Seage lives in Wales with her husband and their doggy, where she is currently working on her next two novels. Whilst you’re waiting for those why not check out these out…
