Play it again Sam

I know the line ‘Play it again Sam’ was never actually uttered in Casablanca but it felt fitting for this post.

If I were to only be able to listen to one song for the rest of my life, I honestly do not think I could choose.

That is an unanswerable question. I wouldn’t even know where to start.

My taste in music is vast. My iPod on shuffle is manic and awesome.

It can go from Frank Sinatra to The Offspring, from Mozart to David Bowie.

I don’t have a favourite song, I doubt that many people do unless they’re under the age of 16 and haven’t yet learnt to appreciate music.

I might have a favourite song by an individual artist but not an overall one.

I think if it was a gun to my head situation I would choose ‘Adagio for Strings‘. It would have to be the Agnus Dei version though, because that piece of music stirs my soul.

It’s haunting and beautiful and it feels like I’m listening to it for the first time every time.

Someone described it on YouTube as sounding like ‘a cry from humanity’s soul’ and it really does. It brings me to tears.

I urge you to listen and see how long it takes you to cry…

Let me know how you get on and what your song would be πŸ™‚
