Alongside some garages near our house there is a public footpath which leads you up on to Gilstead Moor.
We first discovered this trail when we moved here nearly two years ago. It’s a short walk to a beautiful view of Bingley and beyond.
You can see all across the top of St.Ives and all the way down the valley past Keighley and towards Skipton. If you carry along over the tops it eventually brings you out at Parkside. If you cross over here you can enter the magical wonderland of The Prince of Wales Park.
I didn’t even know this place existed up until a couple of years ago and it’s such a wonderful find.
It’s like entering another world. There’s a choice of pathways, all taking you to a new adventure. The park is maintained by Friends of Prince of Wales Park, who are a self funded charity made up entirely of volunteers. The park is over 150 years old and holds many fun events throughout the year. More information is available on their website, or follow them on Facebook to see what they have in store for everyone.
Add a visit to The Prince of Wales Park to your Summer plans!
Of course a walk in the company of Gayle and Simon wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the pub, so we stopped for lunch at The Potting Shed in Bingley. The food was really good and there’s a friendly, relaxed atmosphere there. There’s even some cute little garden sheds for you to enjoy your lunch in or just relax with a drink in their gorgeous garden.
If you don’t include the cost of lunch, you’ve got yourself a totally free day out! Pack a picnic to keep the costs down 🙂
Don’t ever let anyone make you think you’re not good enough.
Follow your dreams right now! Don’t wait until tomorrow,
next week, next year. Stop planning, start doing 🙂
Be happy and keep smiling 😀
