Do you ever get those moments when you’re just smiling to yourself for no reason?
Or a memory pops in to your head from nowhere and suddenly you’re laughing your head off on the bus?
I adore these moments, these little bits of life that make us human. The moments you can’t touch, you can’t hold them and unfortunately, you can’t keep them.
They’ll momentarily lift you up and make you appreciate life. The best part about these little moments is that they’re yours, they’re personal to you and although everyone can experience them in their own way, they’re all unique to each of us.
The way I perceive something is completely different to the way you perceive it. Our sense of smell is different, how we taste things, even the way we see things.
My sense of relaxation will be totally unrelated to yours. One thing that calms me might bore and irritate you.
These things play on my mind quite often, such as, how I see colours will be different to how you see them , sounds won’t be the same neither and this baffles me. Also we will never know how different they are because you can’t explain what a colour looks like or how a sound sounds as they are the only way you know of them existing.
I love these complex ideas that arrive in my mind. Another one is when you start to ponder about ‘Us’, the world, humanity, just floating around in space and how eventually we’ll be forgotten. I don’t find it morbid, I find it fascinating. It also makes you less inclined to care about silly little things.
The Earth will eventually cease to exist and everything that has ever been said, done or created will be gone, unless of course we find a way to fly off in to the stars and take things with us.
The feelings you get from thinking about these things can’t be easily expressed but they’re certainly worth your time. I find them therapeutic, it makes my every day problems seem absolutely irrelevant but also imperative at the same time. Our minds are extraordinary, we can feel so many emotions and yet not express or explain them.

My favourite is ‘onism’ – the awareness of how little of the world you will experience.
It makes me sad but also pushes me to never be afraid to try new things, that way I can experience as much as possible.
Don’t ever let anyone make you think you’re not good enough.
