“Seize the day”
“What have you done today to make you feel proud?”
I’m certain I’ve said these things before or at least very similar. I’m just being consistent and making sure I get my point across… 😉 or just being mildly irritating, take your pick.
I just want to make you aware that you are in charge of your own destiny. It is not pre-determined. Your life is not planned, this isn’t the adjustment bureau. There is no set death day for you. If you flung yourself off of a building, chances are you’re going to die and if you don’t die, you’re just really lucky… or unlucky depending on how you look at it.
Plus if you did die you’re not going to know anyway so you can’t really test that theory. I suppose you could try shooting yourself and if you fail all six times then maybe someone is trying to tell you something, or you’re just really s**t.
Anyway, assuming that we are masters of our own fates, we can pretty much do as we please. Which I suppose would also apply even if our fates weren’t already determined….
To be honest, whether or not you believe in fate, destiny, the adjustment bureau, a grand design, etc what does it matter? Do what feels right. If life is pre-determined then great, you can’t go wrong, if it isn’t then great you can’t go wrong!
What are YOU doing though?
Are you taking full of advantage of the fact that right now you could be doing absolutely anything you want? Anything.
I don’t want to hear your excuses. They’re bulls**t.
Okay, I’ll be reasonable, a single parent living on benefits with 7 children would find it difficult to jet off to Disney tomorrow with all the children, but then again what nut job wants to take 7 kids to Disney?!
However, they can put a plan in place to be making enough money to do that in maybe two years time.
Time is a funny thing. I often wonder where the hell time has gone and actually how short a year can be, then on the other hand I can just as easily look ahead and see that there’s so much to look forward to. This brand new year with lots of days to fill with fun stuff.
You might have an idea of something you’ve always wanted to do, the life you think you want and a year ago I would have been telling you to go out and get whatever it is at any cost but this time I’m just going to suggest that you do what you want.
Do whatever makes you happy, if it feels right, do it. Just be happy. And even though I just said (maybe seven lines back) that there’s so much to look forward to, life is still short and it’s definitely not something we should waste and be miserable about.
I feel as though this blog post has many conflicting areas.
I may have just gone slightly “blah”. I have lots of writing ideas in my head and I’ve not posted for a while, what with Christmas and such. Plus I didn’t want a super cringey, upbeat post about how we can all rock the s**t out of this year because, let’s face it, most of us won’t. (You know who you are, you lazy b*****ds. You people who eat all the chocolate in the house to “get rid of it in time for my diet”. It’s okay, I do that too. No judgement here).
Yep, this post has definitely taken a turn for the worse. It’s fine. Peace out. Get a life, or don’t, whatever.
Don’t ever let anyone make you think you’re not good enough.
Follow your dreams right now! Don’t wait until tomorrow,
next week, next year. Stop planning, start doing 🙂
