And what did I achieve?
2018 started off quite turbulent and pretty shit to be honest but it slowly got better, then it turned to shit again but actually turned out to be a decent year. And definitely ended on a high!
Sound familiar? Life is full of ups and downs. It’s not all plain sailing but for the most part it is super fun!
There are opportunities and adventures waiting around every corner, you’ve just got to keep your eyes open. If you’re constantly focused on what is going wrong or what could go wrong you’re missing out on the good stuff that’s happening around you. Yes, things are shit sometimes but not all of the time!
Anyway! What did I learn in the last 12 months…? 😍
Well first off I learnt that I need to be outside more often, now, I have always known this but it’s very easy to forget when life is super busy. But I adore being outside, it makes me feel so connected. Nothing else matters all of my worries and stresses are suddenly not too important and although I know they will be waiting for me when I return to normality they just seem a little less extreme.
The second thing I learnt was that some people are just never going to be happy. They love the misery and almost thrive on it. They will never find anything positive in any situation, no matter how much you try to make them see it. So stop wasting your time and energy with these life sucking parasites and just leave them to their bitter, miserable lives.
And thirdly, this one is something that deep down I already knew but if someone tells you that they’re a nice person, run.
Just turn around and run.
Anyone who ever tells you that they are nice has not got a decent bone in their body and has never done a nice thing in their lives. Unfortunately, the Universe decided that I needed a cold hard lesson with this one!
Lesson learned, let’s move on.
So there we have the things that life has taught me over the last 12 months. Now, let’s look at what I’ve achieved! (And next week I’ll show you what I have planned for 2019, aren’t you lucky?!)
- I published my second book!
- I became self-employed.
- I did my second year of Panto!
- Christopher and I completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
- I rode a horse!
- Oh and I got a cat, that’s a pretty important one.
- Also, even friends can be dicks sometimes.
So, there we go. Lessons, achievements. It was a pretty successful year all in all…
